Thomas Turgoose is a British actor. Thomas was born on 11 February 1992 and brought up in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. The youngest of four brothers, his parents Rob and Sharon Eggleston split up when he was one year old. He has three older brothers, Karl, Mathew and Jamie. He and a brother were raised by his mother, using her maiden name, in a run down area of Grimsby. Lacking discipline at home through his mother's illness, he was excluded from primary school. His mother, Sharon, died of cancer on 29 December 2005 (This is England was dedicated to her memory). At the time of his first casting in This Is England, he was only attending school for one hour a week and was placed on a scheme for troubled children, The Space Project, where he was spotted by a casting director – famously, convinced that he would not get a part in the film and determined to make some money, he demanded and received a £5 fee for his first audition, which brought him to the attention of film director Shane Meadows....
