Edwin "Eddie" Velez (June 4, 1958 in New York City) is a Hispanic-American actor who stars in films and on television. Velez began acting while in the United States Air Force, when he was stationed in Sunnyvale, California at the Sunnyvale Air Force base. In 1981, he was honorably discharged from the service and later on moved to Los Angeles to pursue his TV and film acting career. Eddie got his first TV series role in the soap opera Capitol in 1986 as Alonzo. He later on that year starred in the hit NBC TV series The A-Team as Frankie "Dishpan" Santana from 1986 (with one remaining episode broadcast in 1987) as a new member of the team, a special effects expert. The show was in its fifth, final season, and Eddie was brought in alongside TV veteran Robert Vaughn as part of a revamp in an attempt to revive flagging ratings.
